The clients brief for this large 1930s house was to demolish several internal walls to covert a narrow ‘L’ shaped kitchen into a large open family space. Key client desires included a nook capable of seating the whole family and a functional ‘industrial’ style. Through a series of computer model presentations, we moved away from a conversion of the existing space developing instead an extension. The resultant large space was separated into a functional kitchen zone and a large nook area housed within a frameless glass bay window. High quality rich natural materials such as handmade brick and hardwoods were enhanced with hidden natural lighting from above to create a rich, textured and layered look. Inspiration for this brightly lit complex space was drawn from the idea of the ‘Manhattan Loft’.

The House ArchitectsThe House Architects
This project comprises of a two-storey side & rear extension to a charming 1920's semi-detached home in Monkstown, transforming it into a light filled, spacious and functional family home. Positioned on an elevated, mature site with a granite boundary wall and a north-facing aspect, the design used clever design strategies to maximise daylight penetration and establish strong visual and physical connections to the garden.

A bright and bold kitchen we designed and installed for a family in Blackheath at the end of last year. The colours look absolutely stunning and the orange back-painted glass splashback really stands out (particularly when the under cabinet lights are on). All of the materials are so tactile - from the cabinets finished in Fenix to the Azzurite quartzite worktop on the Island, and the stunning concrete floor. Motion sensor Philips Hue lighting, Siemens StudioLine appliances and a Franke Tap and Sink complete the kitchen.

This beautiful kitchen is a high quality product from established kitchen designers, Rhatigan & Hick. Each kitchen is distinct and special to each client. Featured in this gorgeous kitchen interior is our 'Elegance' brass pendant lights that hang above the kitchen island. Our 'Bogota' brass wall lights occupy the space above the traditional farmhouse range. Many thanks to our friends at Rhatigan & Hick for sharing this stunning kitchen project and BML media for the images.

The Panelling CentreThe Panelling Centre
Beautifully understated with classic shaker styling, Fenton embodies the characteristics of this iconic design – simplicity, functionality and quality craftsmanship. The unadorned, slim-line framing is very current in kitchen furniture design, where the appeal is in the simple, elegant proportions which allow the materials and construction to shine. Added to which the door’s simple lines and delicate woodgrain figuring provide the perfect backdrop for your choice of painted finish.

The client renovated an old house Circa 1900 while adding extensions left and right of the building. This Kitchen area is part of the new extension with amazing views over the beach and sea. We used Silestone as the main counter area and Oak around the peninsular area, this helped to soften the effect of tiles/glass etc as well as providing a comfortable casual eating space.
