This project included the construction of new single- and two-storey extensions to the front, side, and rear of a semi detached home, substantially increasing the internal floor area and transforming the overall layout and aesthetic. A key feature of the redesign was the introduction of a new front porch, enhancing the entrance and improving the home's street presence. To further modernise the external appearance, contemporary timber cladding was installed on the front elevation, complementing the updated architectural style.

The existing property was a 1960’s 3 bedroom bungalow in County Meath. The client wished to have a larger open plan contemporary home. The new design allowed for an open plan living family room / kitchen and dining room centred around a large kitchen island unit which opens to the front, rear and side gardens. High level glazing was introduced at the front of the house above first floor level allowing natural south light to filter through timber slats to the main bedrooms. The house underwent a full eco-refit and solar panels were fitted to the south facing roofs to increase the energy efficiency of the house. http://dmvf.ie/reverse-dormer/

To enhance outdoor living, a covered terrace was integrated into the design, creating a versatile space that can be enjoyed year-round, regardless of the weather. This harmonious blend of indoor comfort and outdoor connection makes the most of the home's idyllic setting.

This 1930's house has been completely refurbished and extended into the rear garden to provide a more relaxed flexible living/dining/kitchen area. The extension uses floor to ceiling frameless windows and large sliding doors to blur the boundaries between the garden and the interior spaces and to bring light deep into the house, while a generous overhang provides protection from the elements.
